Model 800 Series Spring-Loaded Resistance Probes

Overview:

The Series 840 Resistance/Resistivity Probes enable the user to measure the surface resistance of flat, uneven or curved objects using spring-loaded electrodes. The Series 840 Resistance/Resistivity Probes, all utilize gold-plated, spring-loaded, flat tip pins as the contact electrode. Each pin requires 5-oz (688 gm.) of force for total compression. The electrodes are socket-mounted allowing for easy replacement by the user. The SOURCE/SENSE electrodes are separated by a Teflon® core for high insulation resistance and when compressed, extend 0.5” (13 mm) beyond the core.

All Probes, except the Model 823, have standard BNC output jacks and can be connected directly to any 2-wire resistance meter using the appropriate cable (3-ft BNC to separate banana plug cable standard for stand-alone Probe test heads).  The Model 848 Handle Assembly has a fixed, 3’ (92cm) 3-wire, Teflon shielded cable with standard banana plug terminations for Source,Sense and Ground. It fits the Model 841, 842, and 844 Probes, and provides both user convenience and reduced cost associated with having a single cable assembly.

Features:
  • Measure the surface resistance of flat, uneven or curved objects using spring-loaded electrodes
  • Gold-plated, spring-loaded, flat tip pin contact electrodes
  • Standard BNC output jack is compatible with the Model 848 Handle Assembly

Product Details
Model 844 Resistance 2-Point Probe - The Model 844 Probe is a 2-point (two pin) resistance probe that meets ANSI/ESDA STM11.13 requirements for testing the resistance of small samples or small areas on a larger sample. The Model 844 utilizes gold plated, spring-loaded pins with conductive rubber electrodes at the point of contact.  The probe is comprised of two 0.125" diameter electrodes spaced 6.4mm (0.25") between centers. Recommended Minimum Measurement size of 19mm (0.75”) x 5mm (0.188") surface and a 11mm (0.438”) deep cavity. The Model 844 is designed to be used with the ETS Model 848 Universal Handle Assembly.
Model 841 Resistance Probe: 8 Pins, 0.5″ Measurement - The Model 841 Probe utilizes eight spring-loaded pin-style gold plated electrodes to measure the resistance or resistivity of nearly any surface including measuring samples as small as 0.5" (13mm) diameter, non-flat samples or small areas on large samples.
Model 842 Resistance Probe: 22 Pins; 1.25″ Measurement - The Model 842 Probe utilizes twenty-two spring-loaded pin-style gold plated electrodes to measure the resistance or resistivity of nearly any surface including measuring samples as small as 1.25" (32mm) diamter, non-flat samples or small areas on large samples.
Model 823 Pin-Style Resistance Probe, 54 Pins, 3.0″ Measurement - The Model 823 Probe utilizes fifty-four spring-loaded pin-style gold plated electrodes to measure the resistance or resistivity of nearly any surface including non-flat samples and multi-layer laminates.
Model 848 Universal Handle Assembly - The Model 848 Universal Handle Assembly with Integrated Teflon Shielded Cables.  For use with ETS Model 800 Series spring-loaded resistance probes.
